Hitting the Gym & Two Month Check Up

So with a normal delivery and a healthy pregnancy, I ventured back to my yoga/pilates class at 2 weeks post partum. Crazy, right? Actually, for me, it cleared my head and released tension in my neck, shoulders, and back from the new weight I was constantly lifting and carrying around. I took it easy when I needed to but enjoyed feeling my post-baby body work a little bit. My balance was way off because I had a lot less core strength than before but my legs and arms were pumped! Now, at 8 weeks out, I'm feeling a lot stronger and I have a bit more energy. My yoga/pilates class was a welcome challenge and the instructor even boosted my ego, commending me in front of the class for my effort to get back at it so soon. I was so glad (and lucky) to be able to keep up exercise all the way until 39.5 weeks. It kept me sane and limber and I swear, it made the whole delivery process that much easier to handle.

One of the emails I subscribe to had an article about how to tell if your body is ready to go back to exercise after having a baby and this totally helped me gauge what I could tackle with my abdominals. Give it a read if you're considering jumping back in or just want to know some of the markers.

McBaby had her 2 month check up today. And that means vaccinations! Oof! 4 shots, 2 per leg, 2 per nurse. So hard to hear her cry and feel her tense up. But at least I know we're preventing a lot of the horrible sicknesses from making her more miserable.

She is growing like a weed and leading the charts with her height at above the 90th percentile.
When we brought her home, she weighed 6lbs and 1oz. Two months later, she is at 10lbs, 10oz! Such a happy, healthy, nursed, cloth-diapered baby!

And now, some overdue pictures!
